Summerlin Centre - Las Vegas

In the next month we'll begin our Spring 10-City Trendspotting tour for 2010. We'll be visiting cities such as San Diego, Toronto, Chattanooga and others to capture the best housing, retail and lifestyle trends. We'll be creating a new publication featuring the innovations, trends, photos and key implications found during our travels. If you missed our blog coverage of our fall 2009 tour, you can find all of it here.

Even though it's not part of our upcoming 10-City list, we were recently in Las Vegas and spent some time trendspotting unique housing developments just outside of town. A few minutes from the strip and you can reach Summerlin, just at the base of the Red Rock Canyon. Restaurants, shopping, great schools and friendly home communities located near the parks and trails in the canyon make this a perfect place to live and raise a family. Homes are colorful, comfortable and surrounded by native landscaping and open spaces for families to play and relax. The photos below are from a community called Summerlin Centre:

5 Fun Patterns from Ambiente 2010

This year featured lots of quirky, cute and light hearted prints and patterns that brightened the mood at Ambiente 2010. Sketchy line work, unique combinations of formal and modern looks, vivid colors and a hint of 1980's retro design were just a few of the fun inspirations we gathered at the show. Enjoy!

Mixed Materials - Ambiente 2010

The use of mixed materials was a key statement from Ambiente 2010. What better way to update a basic shape, design or product than by incorporating a new texture or material to create an entirely new look? This season, wood, cork and metal were important updates for home decor items such as vases, candle holders, storage and tabletop products.

Neutrals with a Pop of Neon - Ambiente 2010

Updating the basics never looked brighter than at Ambiente 2010. Punches of intense neon color, such as coral, chartreuse and orange were found across the show on handles, buttons, striping to accent neutrals hues such as gray, brown and black. Proof that the 80's are indeed back in vogue, it looks like neon color is here to stay!

Inspired by Snow Days...

We're snowed in here in Michigan and to be honest? I'm not sure if anyone really minds a whole lot. The kids are all thrilled to have a day off school and the Sphere Trending team?? Well, we don't often get days to work in our PJs, so we're officially on a "snow day"! In keeping with that theme, we're bringing you a post today inspired by the fluffy whiteness coating the ground...
